Anne Galbraith has been appointed chair of the Prescription Pricing Authority.A former chair of the Royal Victoria Hospitals trust between 1990 and 1997, she is currently a member of the Council on Tribunals and the council of Durham University. She succeeds Professor David Johns at the PPA.

Sheila Samuels is the new director of human resources at Mersey Regional Ambulance Service trust.She has worked in the public sector for 25 years and was previously head of human resources at St Helens borough council.

Dr Albert Day has been appointed as chair at Harrogate Health Care trust where he has been a nonexecutive director for eight years.He is also head of medical services at the Leeds Medical Protection Society.
