Anne Bolter, a former chair of Wakefield family health services authority and Wakefield health authority, has been appointed chair of Eastbourne Hospitals trust.

She succeeds John Barkshire, who will retire in December.

Clare Dodgson, chief executive of Sunderland health authority for more than six years, will be leaving at the end of November to become director of Job Centre Services for the Employment Service.

Mike Denis, formerly information manager for Lambeth Healthcare trust, has been appointed information director of the newly formed South London and Maudsley trust.

Professor Brian Jewell will chair Airedale trust for the next four years. He was dean of Leeds University medical school until his retirement in 1998 and has been vice-chair of Leeds health authority since 1996.

Age Concern Newcastle chief executive Sue Pearson will become chair of Newcastle City Health trust on 1 November. She has been a non-executive director of Newcastle and North Tyneside health authority for three years, and was formerly chair of Newcastle community health council.

Rosalind Taylor became chair of Hull and East Riding Community Health trust on 1 October, when East Yorkshire Community Healthcare trust and Hull and Holderness Community Health trust merged. Until recently, she was chief officer of Boothferry Council for Voluntary Service.

Hull and East Riding Community Health trust has five other non-executive directors: retired headteacher Edwin Hoey, magistrate Wendy Thomas, management consultant William Hunter, project manager Anne Shaw and company director Joseph Goodhart.

Geoff Williams, a retired teacher, and Bob Thomas, a retired banker, have been appointed as a non-executive directors of Thameside Community Healthcare trust.

Raksha Kukadia has been appointed manager of the community teaching network at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' school of medicine. She has worked at a number of London health authorities in commissioning and project manager posts.

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers has a new chief executive, Alison Ryan, a board member of Somerset Partnership NHS and Social Care trust, the first health service trust to combine health and social care for people with mental health problems.
