Dianne Jeffrey has been reappointed chair of Community Health Care Service (North Derbyshire) trust, a post she has held since it was established in 1994. She is also a trustee of the NHS Confederation and is its regional lead for Trent.

Karen Tomlinson has been appointed director of professional development at North Nottinghamshire health authority. She was head of clinical practice and professional development, and acting professional adviser to the board.

Paul Sutton is taking over from Nigel Wylie as director of operations strategy at East Anglian Ambulance trust. Mr Sutton was formerly director of operations (distribution) for Staffordshire Ambulance Service trust. Mr Wylie is leaving to become director of operations at Mersey Regional Ambulance Service trust.

The vice-chair of Cumbria Ambulance trust will become its chair on 1 November. Brian Clayton, who has been a non-executive director of the trust since it was founded in 1993, succeeds Brigadier James Howard.

South London and Maudsley trust has four new non-executive directors. They are Diana Robbins, a former civil servant and social policy consultant, Evelyn Dunwoody, founding chair of Lambeth Crossroads scheme, Kumar Jacob, head of finance and administration for a software company, and Professor Stuart Checkley, dean of the Institute of Psychiatry and a professor of psychoneuroendocrinology at London University.

Margaret Booth, a health statistician and voluntary worker, has become a non-executive director of Oxfordshire Community Health trust.

Sue Reed has become director of nursing and quality at Bolton Hospitals trust. She was divisional nurse at Leeds Teaching Hospitals trust. She takes over from John Pettigrew, who has retired after 37 years in the NHS.
