He has worked in the NHS for 22 years and was formerly the trust's deputy chief executive and director of corporate strategy.

Liz McAnulty, a UKCC professional officer with responsibility for midwifery, will replace Mandie Lavin-Smith, who is taking up a post at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
