Veronica Cotterill (above) has been appointed chief executive of Richmond, Twickenham and Roehampton Healthcare trust.

Ms Cotterill has been deputy chief executive of Lambeth Healthcare trust since 1991. She succeeds Julie Hollyman, who became chief executive of Broadmoor Hospital earlier this year.

Richmond, Twickenham and Roehampton trust has also appointed Robert Kirton as finance director and Di Caulfeild-Stoker as executive director of nursing. Mr Kirton is returning to the NHS after five years as a consultant. Ms Caulfeild-Stoker has worked at Queen Mary's Hospital since 1990, most recently as head of quality and marketing.

Chris Bentley, public health and strategic development director at West Sussex health authority, has moved to Sheffield HA as policy and public health director.

Peter Hayward, consultant in public health medicine at West Sussex HA, has become acting public health director.

Nottingham Healthcare trust has appointed Mark Morgan, formerly trust learning disabilities clinical director, as nursing and quality director.

Christina Edwards, nursing and quality director at Essex Rivers Healthcare trust, takes up the post of regional nurse director for the Northern and Yorkshire region this month. She succeeds Professor David Benton, who left to become chief executive of the National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting for Scotland.

Nuala Swords-Isherwood, a management consultant, will succeed Alan Linton as chair of Stockport Acute Services trust.

Derek Bedford, a management consultant and former managing director of hat makers Christy and Co, and Arthur Wilson, retired chief executive of Stockport metropolitan borough council, join the trust as non-executive directors.

Bath and West Community trust has announced that Brian Goodson is its new chair. Mr Goodson retired from the armed forces last year as assistant chief of the defence staff with the rank of rear admiral. Stephen Harrison, a former manager at Clarks shoemakers, has been appointed non-executive director. Nicholas Brown and Robert Parfitt have been reappointed.

The chair of Riverside Mental Health trust, Jenny Hughes, has been reappointed until the end of the year. A former journalist, Ms Hughes has held the post since 1995.
