Diana Middleditch is the new director of finance at Camden & Islington Community Health Services trust. She was previously director of finance at Haringey Healthcare trust. Her new duties will include taking charge of the estates and facilities and IT departments.

Peter Carr is the new chair of Newcastle and North Tyneside health authority. He served as chair of the former Northern regional health authority from 1990 to 1994.

East Sussex, Brighton and Hove health authority has appointed Kate Money, director of commissioning and primary care, as director of development. She will be responsible for developing the HA's health improvement programme and primary care groups.

Bro Taf health authority has a new non-executive director. She is Della Bufton, a community development worker with Rhondda Cynon Taff county borough council.

Two non-executive directors have been appointed to the board of Oxfordshire health authority. Rhonda Riachi, a Labour councillor and director of an educational charity, and Jo Clyde a management consultant, will serve for four years.

The health services management centre at Birmingham University has appointed Phil Meredith as a fellow. He previously worked as head of patient affairs at the surgical epidemiology and audit unit of the Royal College of Surgeons. Nick Goodwin, formerly a project officer at the King's Fund, joins as a lecturer. Emma Regen, previously a sociology lecturer, will become a research fellow for the centre's national evaluation of GP commissioning pilots. Wendy Coucill, formerly a lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, joins the health economics faculty as a research fellow.

Omri Davies has become a non-executive director of Llanelli Dinefwr trust. He is a retired personnel officer.

David Towell has been appointed director of the social exclusion programme at King's College, London's community care development centre, on secondment from the King's Fund.

Steve Phoenix has been appointed director of performance management at East Sussex, Brighton and Hove health authority.

He has 20 years' experience of the NHS. He was previously covering his new post on an acting basis.
