A London hospital is standing by its decision to employ construction company Jarvis despite work on a£30m rebuilding plan stopping. Whittington Hospital trust said work on decrepit Victorian wings had been delayed 'due to financial difficulties within the Jarvis group of companies'. The trust said that at the time of signing the deal in October 2002, Jarvis provided the best design out of a shortlist of three.
