Dr Rowan Williams carried out his first official engagement as Archbishop of Canterbury when he laid the foundation stone of the new£60m Evelina Children's Hospital at St Thomas'Hospital in central London.The new 140-bed building designed by architect Sir Michael Hopkins received a£50m grant from Guy's and St Thomas' Charitable Foundation and will open in the late summer or early autumn.Dr Williams (right) is pictured talking to former patient Sebastian Shaw, 15.He was accompanied by other children who are past or present patients at St Thomas'.
