When financial pressures are forcing cuts in services in many parts of the country, is it not disturbing that in recent issues of HSJ over£6m worth of nonclinical jobs have been advertised in England (appointments, 21 and 28 February)?
Are we confident that this use of money is more likely to improve patient care than if most of it were used to keep services open or develop new ones?
