Free event for region's NHS staff

TrusTECH, the NHS Innovation Hub for the North West of England, is planning a regional service innovation showcase event on 1 December in Manchester.

Attendance is free and open to NHS staff based in the North West with an interest in the four workshop areas: concomitant screening for gonorrhoea in a chlamydia screening service, delivered by a primary care trust; a smoking cessation service, incorporating outpatient and inpatient smoking cessation interventions in a hospital setting; a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease service delivered by an acute trust; a transcranial magnetic stimulation service delivered by a mental health trust, believed to be the first such service in the UK.

The event will include the National Innovation Centre's 'Wouldn't it be great if...?' initiative, which aims to identify clinical and service needs of trust-based staff so that appropriate and practicable technology-based solutions can be identified and developed under a structured and project-managed environment.
