An organisation to provide a voice for primary care trusts in the NHS Confederation is due to be launched next month.

The Primary Care Trust Network will be launched on 5 December and will have a similar role to the Foundation Trust Network.

Its first director will be David Stout, currently chief executive of Newham PCT. The network will aim to provide a distinct voice to raise the profile of issues facing PCTs and improve their influence.

'The network has a key role to play, supporting PCTs and representing the PCT view to government and key stakeholders,' he said.
