The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has made two appointments to its board.

Professor Shah Ebrahim is professor of public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is also a consultant to the World Health Organisation. Jenny Griffiths is a healthcare consultant and chair of Connexions Surrey and Headway Surrey. She also has 11 years' experience as a health authority chief executive, most recently at West Surrrey HA from 19982001.

Anchor Care has appointed Janet Rowe as operations manager (London and South).

She was previously health and safety adviser across Anchor trust. Anchor Care is a not-for-profit provider of care and support to older people in their own homes.
