Helen Scott-South has joined United Lincolnshire Hospitals trust as chief operating officer.Ms Scott-South was previously director of operations, adult services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals trust. She began her NHS career in 1979 as a registered general nurse.
Dr Mark Williamson is the new medical director at West Hull primary care trust.A GP by training, Dr Williamson was previously South Leeds PCT medical director.
Nick Chatten has been appointed director of operations at Royal Free Hampstead trust.He joins from Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals trust, where he was director of performance and planning.
n Dr Michael Walsh has been appointed chief executive of South East London strategic health authority. He is currently chief executive of metropolitan health service Bayside Health in Melbourne, Australia.
n Dr John Battersby has been appointed director of public health for Southern Norfolk primary care trust.Before joining the PCT Dr Battersby, who trained as a GP, worked at the University of East Anglia and Eastern Region Public Health Observatory.
n Shelley Grey has been appointed director of regulatory policy and compliance for the independent foundation trusts regulator. She joins from the Cabinet Office regulatory impact unit.
n John Bishop has retired as managing director of SCOPE (NHS) after 42 years of public service.
Claire Stebbing, senior house officer in paediatric renal medicine, Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital trust, is one of the new Harkness fellows sponsored by the Health Foundation 'The Harkness Fellowship is an opportunity for health professionals to do research in the US.
'I will look at how various prescribing methods, in particular computerised systems, can make a complicated area safer. I will be working with a group that has gone from simple prescribing systems to complex ones, where if a drug is not safe for heart failure patients, for example, the computer looks it over and will not allow you to prescribe it for patients with that condition.
'I will be in Boston for a year. The great thing about the fellowship is that, apart from the research, you also have meetings on health policy and other activities to learn about how other people work.'
