The DoH has announced a new NHS chair of pharmacogenetics.

The contract to host the chair was awarded to the University of Liverpool.

The new post, which will be funded by the DoH for five years, will be held by Professor Munir Pirmohamed. Commenting on the appointment, health minister Ben Bradshaw said: 'This forms part of the government's commitment to ensuring that NHS patients have an early opportunity to benefit from the latest genetic developments.'
