Employment prospects in private healthcare should rise dramatically in the first quarter of this year, according to a Manpower quarterly survey. Both private and public healthcare employers expect to take on more staff but the private sector is 'more bullish', anticipating 45 per cent job gains, compared to 31 per cent in the public sector. The Manpower survey found that private healthcare is the UK's most buoyant industry in employment terms, heading a list of 19 sectors, with public healthcare in second place. 'All the signs point to achieving the Holy Grail of full employment, 'said Manpower managing director Iain Herbertson. He warned that employers now needed to provide varied employment opportunities with increased emphasis on work/life balance.
