Members of the government's independent reference group are to return to Leeds to examine its mental health services. The announcement of a two-day review in June follows concern expressed by consultant psychiatrists at Leeds Community and Mental Health Services Teaching trust, who say underfunding has left services in 'a critical position'. The review will be led by Martin Brown, head of mental health and learning difficulties at the NHS Executive, Dr Robert Kendall, president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and Jennifer Bernard, chief executive of the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work.
