A charter has been drawn up to 'champion' the rights of nursing and midwifery students. The document, issued by the National Union of Students, the Royal College of Midwives, the Royal College of Nursing and Unison, says 'much has changed' since a similar charter was issued four years ago, with a shift away from hospital-based training to higher education. Key issues identified are a need for 'effective communication' between universities and trusts providing placements and a need for appropriate accommodation for students.
