Two GPs who plan to leave their existing practice to become part of a personal medical services pilot are facing an injunction preventing them from practising in the area they currently work in. Dr Martin Ashley and Dr Gillian Towler had been due to resign from the eight-partner York Medical Group practice at the end of June, intending to join a new local nine-partner PMS practice. But the six other partners in the group have sought an injunction preventing them from practising within three miles of their current surgery. The case had a preliminary hearing at the High Court last week which was adjourned until later this month and the two doctors have postponed their resignation date for a month.
