Debbie Fleming
Bournemouth and Poole

Debbie Fleming was chief executive of Bournemouth teaching PCT for nearly six years. Before that she spent two years as general manager for Bournemouth Central primary care group. Ms Fleming joined the NHS in 1984 and has held a variety of posts, mainly in the acute care sector.

Deborah Evans
Bristol
Deborah Evans was made chief executive of Bristol South and West PCT in 2002. She had worked for the NHS in Wales, Southampton and London. She worked for Bristol Royal Infirmary as inpatient manager followed by other roles including director of Avon health authority.

Ann James
Cornwall and Isles of Scilly
Ann James was chief executive of Plymouth teaching PCT from its establishment in 2001. She joined the NHS management training scheme in 1989 and has worked at all levels of the NHS including several senior posts in community and mental health services.

Kevin Snee
Devon
Dr Kevin Snee was chief executive of Bolton PCT from April 2002. Before that he was director of modernisation and public health for Bury and Rochdale health authority. He worked in a number of hospital and GP roles before going into public health in 1988.

Peter Mankin
Dorset
Peter Mankin was chief executive of South West Dorset PCT from April 2001. Before that he was a senior manager in South West regional office and had two secondments to the Department of Health. Previous posts include joint chief executive of the Isle of Wight HA.

Jan Stubbings
Gloucestershire
Jan Stubbings was chief executive of Swindon PCT and group director for housing and social care at Swindon council. She has been a senior DoH civil servant. Ms Stubbings' other senior posts include director of finance and deputy chief executive of Wiltshire HA.

Chris Born
North Somerset
Chris Born was chief executive of Bristol North PCT. Before that he worked for the DoH in the South West as regional director of strategic development and was chief officer for Bristol North primary care group. Mr Born has been an NHS chief executive for 14 years.

John Richards
Plymouth
From 2004, John Richards was chief executive of both New Forest PCT and Eastleigh and Test Valley South PCT. Over the last two years, Mr Richards has been in charge of the team which turned around a£25m deficit to achieve financial break-even.

Ian Tipney
Somerset
Ian Tipney was interim director of finance and commissioning for NHS South West. Before that he was deputy chief executive and director of finance and performance at Dorset and Somerset SHA, where for the last six months he was acting chief executive. He joined the NHS in 1986.

Caroline Fowles
Swindon
Caroline Fowles will be the new Swindon PCT chief executive and group director for housing and social care at Swindon borough council. She was chief executive of Cheltenham and Tewkesbury PCT from 2002, having previously been head of the primary care group.

Jeff James
Wiltshire
Jeff James was chief executive of Gloucester partnership trust from April 2002. He was previously head of Gloucestershire HA from April 1995. His earlier NHS career was spent in various roles in Wales and Cornwall. He has also undertaken research in health policy.
