Mental health charity Rethink is demanding a national investigation into mental health funding after being contacted by staff members, service users and carers concerned about local service cuts. Drawing attention to job cuts and service closures in Oxford, Cambridge, Norwich, Suffolk, the Isle of Wight, Somerset, Devon, Cumbria and London, chief executive Cliff Prior said Rethink has written to national mental health director Professor Louis Appleby demanding an urgent investigation, and an emergency plan to overcome what Mr Prior described as a funding crisis.
