Eight unions representing health sector workers have joined forces to criticise the multi-year pay offer for NHS staff announced this week.

The unions, which include Unite, the Royal College of Midwives, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the Society of Radiographers, the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, the British Orthoptic Society, the British Dietetic Association, and the Federation of Clinical Scientists, said the offer of 2.4 per cent for the first year and 2.25 per cent for years two and three gave "great cause for concern".
