The team leading an independent probe into variations in access to NHS dentistry is calling for people to come forward with 'thoughts and questions' about the issue.

The aims of the review are to identify how the government and local NHS can work together to increase access to NHS dentists and improve quality, to probe the decline in complex treatments, to suggest ways of reducing inequalities in oral health and to consider reform of funding allocation and workforce planning.

The team, led by chair in oral health services research at the school of dental sciences in Newcastle Professor Jimmy Steele, includes senior managers from three primary care trusts.
