Wales has met its target of ensuring that no patient has to wait longer than 22 weeks to a see consultant.

Figures show the number of patients waiting more than 22 weeks for their first outpatient consultation fell from 5,565 patients at the beginning of March to zero by the end of the month.

In March 2007, 21,500 people had been waiting more than 22 weeks to see a consultant.
