PERFORMANCE Milton Keynes Foundation Trust is one of 26 hospitals which have trigger risk summits, HSJ research has revealed.
Risk summits, introduced last October, can be called by regulators or commissioners when “there are concerns that a provider is potentially or actually experiencing serious quality failure”.
The new risk meetings were introduced by the Department of Health to help of safeguard quality and safety during the commissioning reorganisation.
HSJ’s investigation revealed the Milton Keynes FT risk summit took place on 23 January 2013 and was triggered by concerns surrounding its emergency care pathway
The research identified that summits have been held in relation to 26 trusts since October when they were introduced.
