FINANCE: Oxfordshire clinical commissioning group finished 2012-13 £13.5m overspent - £6.1m worse than forecasted.

The overspend was after spending £6m of reserves.

Main areas of contractual overspend were:

  • £17m Oxford University Hospitals
  • £5.5m Continuing Healthcare
  • £2.9m “NCAs”
  • £1.6m Ambulance services
  • £1.4m Royal Berkshire.

The CCG was disputing activity reports for the Royal Berkshire overspend

There were underspends on prescribing, running costs, and some commissioning initiatives.
