Twenty organisations have been honoured in the 2018 HSJ Value Awards – which recognise and celebrate outstanding improvements in care quality and efficiency made by NHS staff.
This year saw fierce competition for the coveted awards with almost 600 entries, of which only 190 made to the shortlist. From those, 20 winners were decided by our expert panel of judges (see table below), with an additional 15 projects receiving commendations at the ceremony in Manchester.
HSJ editor Alastair McLellan said: “In July the prime minister has promised to reveal a historic funding settlement for the NHS.
“However, this welcome and long overdue boost will not remove the need for the NHS to deliver high quality healthcare which is also value for the money spent on it. Indeed, the extra money is likely to come with even greater scrutiny on NHS efficiency.
“The shortlisted and winning entrants of the HSJ Value Awards all demonstrate that the NHS is constantly seeking ways in which to enhance both the quality of care while making every penny count.”
The awards were sponsored by AdviseInc, Bayer and Winscribe; and supported by NHS Confederation.
