Chair, Foundation Trust Network (New entry)
The former DH deputy chief executive has steadied the Foundation Trust Network during its stop-start separation from the NHS Confederation. Also chair of the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, he stepped in to defend the network’s chief executive Sue Slip man last year when she was suspended by the confederation during the divorce row. After the network’s recent failure to appoint a new chief executive, Mr Griffiths will be increasingly important until the network manages to secure a chief executive who can take charge. With his term not due to end until June 2013 he will be an important point of continuity.
