WORKFORCE: The NHS Appointments Commission has appointed Robert Deri as chair of Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
He replaces David Watt, who had been the trust’s acting chair, since the resignation of Scilla Smith in the summer.
Mr Deri said: “I am delighted to be given this exciting opportunity to help guide Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust through the Foundation Trust application period.
“My aim is to help us deliver the highest quality of care to our patients and help us to forge a reputation as one of the best Trusts in the country.”
Mr Deri has been appointed for the period from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2015. He will receive remuneration of £23,366 per annum.
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, having qualified with KPMG and has over 25 years’ experience in senior business roles, including Group Finance Director for Grattan plc, CFO of Zoo Digital Group plc and General Manager on the Board of BT Mobile Communications.
