FINANCE: Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust was £8.8m behind plan at month six.

Strategic health authority papers show the trust has reduced its forecast outturn at Month 6 by about £5m, from £11.5m.

The finance paper says: “The trust has seen a deteriorating financial position throughout the financial year and at month 6 is £8.8m behind plan; this performance is a result of budget setting omissions, costs associated with target delivery and contract agreements.

“Commissioners have been supportive and have agreed extra resource to support target delivery and cost pressures. The impact of the extra resource and internal
actions is a forecast outturn of £5m, some £5.2m lower than plan. This has significant implications for the FT process and the trust is subject to enhanced monitoring and scrutiny.”
