FINANCE: Financial board papers from Leicester City CCG warn the board are still “unclear” about the level of funding required from the CCG for property managed by the new NHS Property Services Limited-or PropCo.

NHS Property Services Ltd launched on 1 April 2013 with one of the largest property portfolios in Europe – a quarter of which is made up of GP surgeries.

The company was set up by the Department of Health to develop and manage more than 3,700 assets covering estate, property and facilities which will transfer from Primary Care Trusts and Strategic Health Authorities.

According to the CCG board papers the organisation has “assumed” that the CCG will only be responsible for funding assets that are utilised for the ‘running’ of the CCG.

It said an exercise was underway at the NHS England Area Team to identify funding requirements.
