PERFORMANCE: The number of legal claims made against Lewisham Healthcare Trust in the last quarter was nearly double the average over previous years, a report reveals.
The document presented to the board said there had been 23 claims against a previous average of 12.
The total value of claims paid out by the NHS Litigation Authority on the trust’s behalf last year was £11.6m.
A claim due to be settled in the near future concerned the faulty fitting of long-acting reversible contraception.
