FINANCE: A south London acute trust has agreed a block contract with its commissioners for the first half of this financial year.

Minutes of a meeting of Lewisham and Greenwich Trust report that the trust reached the agreement with commissioners following mediation.

The report said: ”During the first two quarters of the year an independent review of emergency activity would be undertaken to confirm the basis on which activity covered by the block should be charged from quarter three onwards. The aim would be to have emergency activity paid for on a cost and volume basis for the second half of the year.”
