FINANCE: Spending on PBR-based acute care - which falls within the remit of CCGs - is expected to be £26m above plan by year end in Lincolnshire.
This amounts to an overspend of more than five per cent which is being offset by lower than expected spending in other areas, such as block contracts.
NHS Lincolnshire’s latest finance report said it expected to meet its target year-end surplus of £9.5m but acute care costs and failure to achieve QIPP savings were risks to this. Overall, the PCT is likely to overspend on acute care by around £10m - its forecast expenditure on acute care has increased by £3m in a month.
