STRUCTURE: The full business case for the merger of Ealing and North West London Hospitals Trust has been delayed until after the London Mayoral elections in May.
Minutes of an NHS London meeting in early March said the strategic health authority hoped to consider the full business case at a “special NHS London Board meeting to be held 11 April 2012”.
This has now been delayed until June.
The minutes said: “The assurance and approvals timetable is very tight, however any slippage will incur a delay of at least 2-3 months, due to the timing of local elections and would result in an unfortunate co-alignment with commissioner consultation on major service change in NW London.”
