PERFORMANCE: Northampton and Milton Keynes primary care trust cluster has been warned they should “align” to monitor performance at Milton Keynes Foundation Trust.

NHS East Midlands acting chair Professor David Chiddick wrote to the PCT cluster following an assurance meeting.

He said: “We have some concerns about in-year performance and delivery of your plans. You will need to align the two PCTs’ assurance processes to create a new approach. Milton Keynes FT appears to present the most significant risk. This SHA will get close to you on this.”

Milton Keynes PCT’s acute budget is overspent by more than £2m, largely due to a £1.4m overspend with Milton Kenyes FT.
