PERFORMANCE: More than 200 extra patients in Yorkshire have started anticoagulation therapy through a programme to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular diseases and cut rates of stroke and heart attack.

The Bradford’s Healthy Heart programme, which began last week, involves five work streams that include prevention, primary care management of patients at risk of cardiovascular diseases, and pathways into secondary care

The CCG aims to reduce cardiovascular disease rates by at least 10 per cent by 2020.
