COMMERCIAL: Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group has extended its contract for community services with Bromley Healthcare by one extra year to end in March 2017.

The contract with the social enterprise was originally for five years, ending on 31 March 2016.

Explaining the decision to use the option to extend the contract, CCG director of commissioning Mark Needham said: “We wish to improve the delivery of health services in the community by working up a single health and social care specification.

“It is not possible to work up a new specification, consider options for procurement and procure and mobilise a new specification within a year without considerable risk to the health system. To minimise this risk and ensure a timely approach to implementing a new service it is proposed that we extend Bromley Healthcare’s contract by 12 months.”
