Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group has appointed a interim chief officer following the departure of Paul Jenkins.

Mr Jenkins, who had been in the role since August, has stepped down to take on interim roles in healthcare management.

Sarah Thompson became interim chief officer this week. Previously she worked in a number of senior commissioning roles and as borough director of Enfield Primary Care Trust.

Mo Abedi, chair for Enfield CCG, said: “I am delighted to welcome back Sarah on behalf of the governing body and wider CCG. Sarah has a demonstrable record of commitment and success in her extensive NHS career and will be a real asset as the CCG moves into its next phase.

“I would like to thank Paul for leading us through a period of challenging times. During his time with us, Paul has led a number of new service developments including the procurement of an integrated urgent care NHS 111 and GP out of hours service across the five north central London CCGs.”
