WORKFORCE: Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group has appointed Caroline Dollery as its chair.

Dr Dollery is a GP in Danbury and currently sits as a GP member on the CCG’s governing body.

She will take up her new post in September and will serve a three year term, subject to re-election.

She replaces Bryan Spencer, who has served in an interim capacity since May, following the resignation of former chair Lisa Harrod-Rothwell.

Dr Spencer, who will resume his previous position as deputy chair, said he would “like to congratulate Caroline” and he is “sure she will prove to be an inspirational and solid leader for the CCG and all clinicians”.

Dr Dollery said she was “delighted to be in this new role”.

She acknowledged the CCG has “the task of trying to get back on track financially from a current deficit of just over £15 million”.

“At the moment we are finalising transformational plans for health over the next five years and I am excited to have the opportunity to influence and lead this work.”
