FINANCE: The risk of non delivery of local efficiency plans has been red rated by Southampton City clinicial commissioning group.

The CCG’s board assurance framework for May gives the risk a maximum likelihood score of five out of five, with an impact of three out of five.

The document says: The 2013-14 quality, innovation, productivity and prevention challenge for Southampton City CCG is £12.831m, or 4.6 per cent of their total allocation.

“To support the delivery of QIPP £1.981m of investments have been allocated to contracts as part of the planning process to leave a net QIPP challenge of £10.85m .

“Should the QIPP savings not be delivered the CCGs surplus and financial sustainability would be at risk.”
