SERVICES: Plans for new and improved services have been unveiled as part of the annual plan for the North Essex Partnership Foundation Trust.

Andrew Geldard, chief executive, said: ‘Mental health is a huge area and success is dependent upon thousands of tasks from individual patients/clinician encounters, to the decisions we make about our building programme. The Plan is our steering wheel; the way our huge vehicle gets to where patients and families want us to be.

‘In this coming year we’ll be opening the world class St. Aubyn Centre (Child and Adolescent inpatient unit with 25 beds), building a new adult low secure unit in Chelmsford, starting a major modernisation programme at the Derwent Centre in Harlow, piloting new psychiatric liaison services in local hospitals, implementing a new local Clinical Information system, and hope to extend alcohol liaison nurse and blood borne virus services.’
