PERFORMANCE: All three acute trusts in the area covered by the NHS Northamptonshire and NHS Milton Keynes cluster are likely to miss the 95 per cent standard for A&E cases dealt with within four hours.

The cluster board heard that year-to-date performance for the trusts in Northampton, Milton Keynes and Kettering was below 94 per cent.

In Milton Keynes, unplanned care had rocketed by over 20 per cent in the year to date.

This was thought to be linked to pressure in A&E as staff saw an increasing proportion of more seriously ill patients.
