FINANCE: Nottingham University Hospitals Trust is reporting a year-to-date shortfall against its 2010-11 cost improvement programme of £2.86m.

A total of £24.103m of savings is forecast for the full year, representing an under delivery of £4.592m.

However, this marks a slight improvement of £152,000 compared with the position in November.

Board reports said the number of the high risk schemes remain unachievable. The recurrent full year effect of schemes delivered in 2010-11 totals £24.837m, excluding those schemes contained within the 2011-12 programme, which represents an additional £735,000 of savings to the in year reported position.

The full year effect shortfall against the 2010-11 cost improvement programme totals £3.130m.
