PERFORMANCE: Delayed transfers of care are three times higher than target at Oxford University Hospitals Trust.

Delays “remain a major cause of concern for the trust”, its performance report for July says.

The in-month level for June stood at 10.6 per cent of occuppied beds against a target of 3.5 per cent. That was 0.6 percentage points down since April.

“However, this translates into a system-wide year to date average of 142 patient delays”, the report said.

“At the week ending 23rd June 2013 107 patients were delayed in the OUH. The Supportive Hospital Discharge Scheme continue to manage an average weekly caseload of 50 patients at home who otherwise would have been recorded as delays.”
