FINANCE: Oxford University Hospitals Trust delivered £36.7m in savings in the first ten months of 2012-13 – 91 per cent of its plan.

March board papers said: “As previously reported the high level of bed occupancy within the trust means that the full level of planned savings from ward closures will not be realised in the current year.”

While none of the existing savings plan were categorised as being high risk, there iwa thought to be a medium risk only against the medicines management scheme.

The trust estimated that there were savings worth £7.1m of schemes where the savings cannot be carried forward into 2013-14.
