Blackpool Teaching Hospitals FT: Operation Provide - Reaching Out to Victims of Domestic Abuse

Operation Provide (Op Provide) embeds NHS-employed and trained independent domestic violence advocates (IDVAs) within a dedicated DA team. The IDVAs are deployed alongside operational police officers at the team of the incident to offer enhanced support to victims of domestic abuse across Blackpool, Fylde Coast and North Lancashire. Although in its inception, the Op Provide initiative was only set to last for the duration of the pandemic, due to its success, it has continued to operate beyond its original remit. The judges found this entry original and impactful, showcasing an approach that enhances patient safety outcomes. The integration of care and partnership stood out as a shining example.
