FINANCE: NHS Peterborough has arranged with its strategic health authority to pay its debts back over two years.

According to board papers, the PCTs finance and performance committee was informed of the arrangement recently agreed with NHS East of England.

The PCTs annual report for 2009-10 recorded nearly £27m of liabilities overall.

The committee was told: “Although this is still to be concluded, we are hoping to secure a repayment profile of circa two thirds in 2011-12 and one third in
2012-13.”

As of 27 January 2011, the PCT is forecasting a year-end deficit of £3.262m.
