COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY: NHS Plymouth is forecasting an overspend on commissioning of £11.5m.
One of the most significance variances against plan was spend at Plymouth Hospitals Trust where the PCT is predicting adverse movement against plan of £1.4m during December.
However, the PCT is confident it will achieve its planned year end surplus of £4.1m as the position is balanced by corporate contingencies and risk management. The most significant risk to achieving the full surplus has been identified as the achievement of Service and Process Redesign and internal efficiencies. These are now £2.6m behind plan year to date, and forecast to underachieve by £5.0m.
