Whenever the times get tough, and this will be harder than anything we have experienced in the last decade, actually longer.
We rip each other apart "its this ones fault or the other"
As a clinican and a manager with a quality qualification, who at my age in my mid thirties, who trained in and proud of the NHS.
I sit now looking at the future
I have three options:
1. Go abroad
2. Go the private sector
3. Or do what I actually will do, which is stay.............
The poor decisons we make, our inactions, our professional rivalary, our manager bashing, our clinican bashing. Will waste precious time and energy, some of you will be still with me in twenty years or in my case more likely to thirty years, as my pension reduces and my retirment age increases. If I have a job!
For once can we : do the right thing, minimise as much harm as we can, prepare for bloody awful and difficult decisions which will probably haunt our patients/carers/staff for years to come. And more importantly prepare together
