Report comment

So, the Government commissions a report from those bright young things at McK; asking them how we save £20bn. With numbers crunched the report comes back, only for the Government to then throw their hands up in horror – as if it were a surprise. For me, the creation of the enemy in McK has the signature of some dark political overlord (well a specific dark lord come to that). With kites duly flown I guess they will alight on a far more “acceptable” figure of savings and staff loss that would have been equally unacceptable only a few weeks ago before this stunt.

What worries me is that the ground where parties can actually talk has now been poisoned whereby every one shouts, but no one listens; you only have to read the postings to this article to see that.
